Cet ouvrage appartient à une série de traductions de grammaires de langues iraniennes publiées en URSS, comprenant, outre le persan, le pachtou, l'ossète et le tadjik. L'ensemble de ces traductions a été préparé par le Département d'Études proche-orientales de l'Université du Michigan dans le cadre d'un contrat avec le ministère de la Défense et du National Defense Education Act de 1958 (D. This grammatical sketch is a Russian-to-English translation of the appendix to B. V. Miller's Persidsko-Russkij Slovar, Moscow, 1953. The first section presents a complete description of the sound and writing systems of modern Persian, the official language of Iran. Following sections deal with the parts of speech and simple, compound, and complex sentences. Appendix 1, an analysis of the lexical structure, concentrates on basic Iranian words, as well as Arabic and other loan words. Appendix 2 lists the most common irregular verbs.
