Résumé : |
The third edition of The Guide to Oriental Classics has been prepared with the same essential purpose as the earlier editions: to provide an aid to both teachers and students in reading and discussing the major texts of the four traditions represented. In recent years the number of new translations and studies has dramatically increased. This has led us to add sections on major works that were previously unavailable in English, such as the tenth-century Japanese poetry classic, the Kokinshü, as well as to expand and refine the lists of translations and secondary readings. The additional sections in the Guide mean that to an even greater extent than with earlier editions, there is more material than can be taught in a year's course. However, the greater selection also means that courses can be shaped more specifically to reflect the purposes and interests of particular teachers and students (Extrait de la préface). |
Note de contenu : |
