Vahit Tursun sadece kendi lehçesinin mükemmel bir uzmanı değil, aynı zamanda diğer Pontos lehçelerini, Çağdaş Yunancayı ve Türkçeyi de iyi bilmektedir. Tursun, anadili olan Romeikayı, verdiği gramer örnekleriyle bir yandan eşzamanlı olarak Çağdaş Yunanca ve diğer yandan da artzamanlı olarak Klasik Helenceyle karşılaştırmaya çalışmıştır. Daha da ileri giderek derlediği kısa anekdot ve hikayelerle Pontos'un farklı ağızla şivelerini birbirleriyle, diğer yandan çok sayıda cümle örnekleriyle de Helencenin Attika, Girit, Trakya ve Kıbrıs Rumcasıyla karşılaştırmayı içeren bir çalışmaya da imza atmıştır. Major chapters include phonology, morphology, and basic information on syntax. Appended are short sections on Arabic borrowings and verb conjugation. Throughout this translation the cyrillic transcription of the Russian original has been replaced by a roman transcription corresponding with that used by both Chavarria-Aguilar and Penzl in their Pashto texts.
